Let Me Use It!
Ok, ok, enough of me telling you about the system. Let's get into it so you can see it at work. We've outlined a few points you'll need in order to get started:
1. Log In
In a new browser window go to: www.abendago.com/abendagov2/abendago/
User Name: demo2
Password: demo2
or
User Name: demo1
Password: demo1
2. Welcome Home
Now that you have succesfully logged in you will be presented with a dashboard view of your site. This page shows you the recent areas of the admin which you have accessed (ordered by most frequently visited over the past 5 days), and a log of administration activity. Now you'll know who deleted that image, page, or database item.
This page also presents the main tab navigation that will accompany you through-out your administration experience. Simply select a tab from the top navigation to begin modifiying your site content. Let's start with the pages tab.
3. Page Content
The main section of the admin that you will want to visit is the pages tab. This page displays a tree of all the pages your site contains. Clicking on a page name will allow you to modify a page's content. Feel free to visit the site stats section as well.
Once you've selected a page to edit, you will be presented with a familiar online form which prompts you for some key pieces of information. Complete the form (just like I'm doing now to populate this) and press save changes at the bottom of the page.
Now click the "view page" icon to the right of the page you just edited. You'll see the page exactly as a user would if they were to visit it.
4. Inserting an Image
Everyone wants to be able to insert an image. On the Abendago CMS it's easy. Simply select the page you want to edit in the page listing. Then, click the "browse" button in the upload resource box on the right. Select your image and click upload. Once it has completed uploading it will display below the upload resource box. Simply click and drag it into the body content box, resize, and press "save changes".
Feel Free to Click Through The Other Tabs and Experiment With Different Admin Elements!
